Art
This will be the hub to all my different art types and maybe even have a statement or two – My philosophy on art? Egads, no, better not!
Some sample art that I’ve been pleased with for a long while:
- Ethel and Gladys have Tea
- Fight!
- Crocodile Hearts
Other stuff I do that people may be interested in:
Paintings & Drawings – a bunch of crazy stuff that I do. There is no rhyme or reason to the order on this page. It’s just a BUNCH of stuff.
Sculptural work – This is something I tinker around with every now and then. I’m not one of those innately talented sculptors; in fact, I tend to struggle with sculpture quite a bit, which could be why it’s both fun AND frustrating for me. Still, to use the art school jargon, I like the “thingness” quality that sculpture has to offer.
Still Lifes – My still lifes tend to involve a lot of plants and flowers. And trees. If there is a common theme running through my life (and I like to imagine that there is) it’s my interest in flowers and plant life. I’m a terrible gardener, but I still tend to buy and read gardening books like a starved woman. Each year as spring encroaches closer, I am convinced that THIS will be the year I finally figure out how to garden. The only thing I’ve figured out (or at least I try to tell myself that I have figured out) is how to render plant life in art.
Zombies – Like plants, zombies are a go-to image for me. When I am working on art and I am experimenting with styles or techniques I am familiar with, I tend to go to either flowers or zombies. Both are very forgiving of mistakes, and can actually look better when illustrated with some mistakes!

Nice work! I love the variety of styles and genres, and would be very interested in reading your philosophy on art.
Thank you! You know, I’m not sure what my philosophy would be – I tend to draw/paint whatever catches my attention, but I’m not sure… I really should think about this, shouldn’t I?
I mean… I really must have one, right? We all do, right? Ugh. Now you have me thinking about this again!
